Fire conditions along the east bench in Fruit Heights are a concern as we move into Summer and Fall. Because of the wet spring that we have had, new growth is abundant along the foothills of Fruit Heights. As the temperatures begin to warm the growth will begin to dry out causing prime wildfire conditions. Effective July 1, 2016 Fruit Heights City will be enforcing open fire burning that is not in an approved fire pit within the corporate limits of Fruit Heights City. All open fires on Public Lands within the corporate limits of Fruit Heights City is not permitted because of fire conditions and will be enforced as allowed by local and State Laws.
Along with a ban on open fires, the City will also be enforcing Firework Restrictions along the east bench. A map of the restricted areas can be viewed and downloaded by clicking here. Anyone wishing to report illegal or suspicious activity is asked to call the Davis County Sheriffs Office Dispatch at 801-451-4150
